Born in the early 80′s to musical parents, it was pretty much inevitable that I would go into a career in the creative industries (early recitals on pots and pans in the kitchen were a clear sign of things to come). Thanks to my junior school teachers & parents I was nurtured into learning drums, percussion and keyboards. I went on to study music at the Royal Northern College of Music and now work as a composer, musician, musical director, educator and creative chap. I’ve worked on a variety of projects from film and theatre to video games and music production (plus lots more) picking up several award nominations to date.
In addition to my work as a film, media and theatre composer – I have also written extensively for choral and instrumental ensembles. Notable highlights have included commissions for Elmdon Choral Society (Starless Beginnings (a re-imagining of the Creation story) and My Heart Leaps Up (a collection of poetry settings)), Halesowen Choral Society (Winter Oratorio (an original suite for SATB Choir and Big Band)) and The Heart of England Singers (Shall I Compare Thee and When In Disgrace With Fortune (two settings of Shakespeare Sonnets).
