D+VE is a new project where I’ll be exploring the world through analogue sounds, tape loops, field recordings and sound art. Using old retro cassette decks to record short loops of music or sound, sampling field recordings with my trusty Tascam, then manipulating these into pieces, tracks, miniatures or sound-experiments.

On a wet Friday afternoon I sat at the piano and hooked up 3 tape decks and a delay pedal. The video above is the result!
D+VE is the affectionate nickname given to me by my friends and family so it made the perfect moniker for this new project. And the + well that’s just to avoid any beef with the rapper Dave. I don’t want to have to produce a tape-looped diss track!
+ From The Water Came Life
This is the first release from D+VE and will be out on 28th February. The track features two melodicas which I recorded to two different tape loops. I then played them back at various speeds and warped/manipulated them into this track. Presave or listen HERE
